Monocryl® Plus Antibac Suture, MultiPass® Prime Rev Cut is a sterile, absorbable monofilament suture designed for surgical procedures where bacterial contamination is a concern. The suture incorporates Irgacare MP antibacterial technology within the poliglecaprone 25 material, providing protection against bacterial colonization. Its monofilament structure ensures smooth passage through tissue, minimizing trauma and supporting optimal wound closure.
The suture exhibits predictable tensile strength, losing 50–60% within one week and 60–70% over the same period, with complete mass absorption occurring between 91 and 119 days. This controlled absorption profile makes it suitable for soft tissue approximation in high-risk patients, supporting wound healing without the need for suture removal.
Monocryl® Plus offers excellent pliability, facilitating even tissue passage and precise placement. The suture is easier to knot, allowing consistent and secure knot formation, which enhances procedural efficiency and wound integrity. The reverse-cutting needle, 3/8 circle in shape and 24 mm in length, is crafted from stainless steel to ensure reliable penetration and minimal tissue drag.
