Chromic Gut Absorbable Suture, Size 7/0, 18", with a blunt point spatula needle (Tg140-8), is designed for delicate tissue approximation where minimal trauma is essential. The suture material is derived from purified connective collagen tissue, primarily sourced from the serosal layer of bovine intestines. The chromic treatment extends the absorption period compared to plain gut sutures, providing prolonged wound support and minimizing tissue reaction.

The blunt point spatula needle is specifically engineered to pass through fragile tissues, such as those found in ophthalmic and microsurgical procedures, without cutting or tearing. Its design reduces the risk of inadvertent damage to adjacent structures, making it suitable for sensitive and thin tissues. 

Chromic gut sutures maintain tensile strength for approximately 10 to 14 days, supporting wound healing during the critical initial phase.
