Coated Vicryl Plus Antibacterial Suture, composed of Polyglactin 910, is a braided absorbable suture designed for effective soft tissue approximation and ligation. The coating enhances the handling characteristics, providing smooth passage through tissue and reducing tissue drag. This suture offers excellent knot security and reliable tensile strength retention during the critical wound healing period.

The antibacterial property of this suture is achieved through incorporation of an antimicrobial agent, which creates a zone of inhibition against common surgical site pathogens. These include Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, MRSA, and MRSE. The antimicrobial activity reduces the risk of surgical site infections, making it ideal for use in contaminated or potentially infected wounds.

The suture’s reverse cutting needle facilitates precise tissue penetration with minimal trauma. The needle’s 1/2 circle shape allows for accurate control and is suited for delicate or dense tissues.
