The Plain Gut Absorbable Suture, 4-0, 30", CV-23 Taper Needle, 17mm is a sterile surgical suture designed for soft tissue approximation and ligation procedures. It is composed of purified connective tissue derived primarily from bovine intestinal serosa and processed into a chromic gut material. The suture is intended for temporary wound support, gradually losing tensile strength as it is absorbed by the body.

The material is treated with chromic salt solution to delay absorption and extend functional wound support time compared to plain gut sutures. It is packaged in a preservative solution containing isopropanol, water, and triethanolamine to maintain stability and sterility. The sterile packaging ensures safe clinical application in surgical environments. This suture is suitable for procedures requiring short-term internal support.

The attached CV-23 taper point needle is manufactured from Surgalloy material and measures 17 mm with a 1/2 circle curvature. The taper point design allows smooth tissue penetration with minimal trauma, making it suitable for delicate soft tissue handling. The 30-inch suture length provides adequate material for standard surgical closures. Its 4-0 size offers fine precision for controlled suturing applications.
